I had no idea how competitive I really was. Like a lot of students, I was guessing and guessing is terrifying when your future rides on one application. So I built UniCheck so you never have to guess either.
I'm a UBC Master's student now, and every year I sit down with admissions teams across Canada to understand what they actually weigh. That's the insight baked into every corner of this platform.
Why I built this
UniCheck exists for the version of me who almost didn't apply. I had the grades, the activities, the drive but no one could tell me where I actually stood. Private consultants wanted thousands of dollars; the free advice was generic. So I spent a year studying what admissions teams really look for, turned it into a dashboard, and built the tool I wished I'd had.
Today UniCheck breaks your profile down across the six things admissions teams actually weigh (academic fit, leadership depth, extracurriculars, coursework, program match, and supplemental essays)and tells you, honestly, where you're strong and where to grow.
